Revolutions for Three Saxophones and Speaker

Ecliptic

Based on a quote of Galileo, Ecliptic is a staged piece for three saxophones (any size, although originally intended for alto) and speaker.  The speaker is situated in the middle of the main stage, and the three saxophones are placed in the audience and behind the speaker.  The saxophone performers are directed across the audience by the speaker, playing a new set of melodicles at each stand to provide the impression of the rotation of the planets around the sun.  This was commissioned by Barney Childs for the Redlands University saxophones.  Contact me for more information.
