Living With My Donkeys Performances

Living With My Donkeys Performances
  • Maddy Tarantelli, DMA, Assistant Professor Horn, University of Northern Iowa; selectioned movements were performed at the Iowa Mid-North Horn Workshop, University of Iowa, March 14, 2025

  • Drew Phillips, DMA, Associate Professor, Liberty University, Faculty Recital, Feb. 25, 2025.  His Live Feed shows his creativity in performing the entire work, complete with photographs shown on the front stage screen.  We'll be working on getting a good performance audio--stay tuned.  An interesting note, Drew performed the Low Version, which is rarely heard.  He had other works on that program that were well worth listening to, particularly the first opening work, "Soundings" by James Naigus and Drew's own work, Songs of Joy (at 56:18).

  • Tarre Nelson, Graduate Assistant, Florida State University, selectioned movements, April, 2024.  Tarre also included the work in their graduate treatise, Unaccompanied Horn Repertoire by Underrepresented Composers.

  • William Scharnberg, DMA, retired Regents Professor of Horn, University of North Texas and Principal Horn, Dallas Opera; Premiere Performance, 56th International Horn Symposium, July 31, 2024.  Dr. Scharnberg has also scheduled selected movements of the work for performance at the Red Lodge Music Festival, summer 2025.

  • Lydia Van Dreel, DMA, Professor of Horn, University of Oregon, Faculty Recital, selected movements, March 3, 2024

If any others of you out there in the horn-donkeyverse have performed the work, let me know!  I'd be so happy to include you here.

The work was awarded Honorable Mention for the Pauline Oliveros New Genre Prize by the Alliance for Women in Music.
