This particular photo of Nook in the morning sun shows how young he was when he came to live with us.
These sounds are a combination of Nook’s call and the “mystery bird” call, all developed in iZotope’s Iris2 which allowed me to lasso specific frequencies. The descending two-note motif running throughout are the first two notes of the song bird call from the “mystery bird” that I recorded a couple years ago, isolated in just a couple frequency areas through the iZotope Iris2 program.
TVerb and Comet are the reverbs. The panning was through ShaperBox.
The high pitch interjections are from using the aftertouch (pressure) to control the pitch. That is, by pressing down on the key, I can rapidly change the pitch to a couple octaves up, and loosening the pressure pulls the pitch down to normal. The top line below shows the places I pressed the key by the little vertical lines.
